Towing and recovery.

A running loop over the hitch, a quick loop through the recovery ring, and a rope that stretches a quarter of its length before the pull comes on. RunLock No 20 tows without hooks, chains or a knot that jams when the job is done.

Towing

Why a rope with stretch, and how to hook it up

The problem with towing is the first metre. A stiff strap or a chain passes the whole shock into both cars; a rope with stretch takes it up. RunLock No 20 stretches about a quarter of its length under load and springs back, so the start is gentle and the line stays taut. If the job is heavy, use two lines together.

Attaching takes seconds. Make a running loop and drop it over the tow ball. For a closed ring or a chain, use the quick loop with fixed release: it will not untie under load, and one pull on the free end lets it go. Adjust the length by moving the loop one step at a time. Nothing scratches the paint, and a muddy line goes in the washing machine.

The same rope pulls a snowmobile out of the drift, a quad up a bank or a timber cart along the track. It locks and releases with gloves on, and it does not freeze into a knot.
