The towing line.
RunLock No 20 in fluorescent orange. A running loop over the hitch, a quick loop on the ring, and 25 % built-in stretch that takes the snatch out of the first pull. No hooks, no chains, nothing that scratches the car.
No knots needed. Make a running loop and place it over the trailer hitch. Adjust the length by moving the loop forward or back, one loop at a time. If you need extra strength, use two towing lines together. When it gets dirty, wash it in the machine at 40 °C.
The quick loop with fixed release is the lock to use on closed rings and chains. It will not untie under load, and one pull on the free end releases it in seconds.
